What are some cool Music- Related Activities to do with Children in a classroom?

The theme is Music... what fun things can you do with a classroom full of 9 to 12 year old kids over the course of a month? got any ideas for musical games, making instruments, making pop star costumes etc?

Do you maybe know of any links to websites that may help me out?

i'll be asking this in the education section at some point but i thought i'd throw it out to you creative peeps first help me out... anything lol!

bq: did you ever do any cool music related stuff at school when you were a kid? i have this crazy memory of doing a 'Scottish opera' in primary school... we were aliens that had kidnapped a scotsman to learn the 'earth lingo' before we invaded... so when we finally did touch down and face the army, we sang (!?) everything in a kinda broad Scots dialect (we had to learn all these crazy words)... no idea what that was all about lol! (still remember a lot of the words amazingly, about 25 years later!)

We did that once in my music class but all the questions were music questions. the teacher divided us into two teams (boys and girls) but I guess you could do it any way you wanted
she also had a buzzer thing, it was quite fun!

Something I always liked is have them perform to the class a small piece of music they learned in the instrument they're learning.
oh! I remember the first years in my school were making podcasts about their favourite artists. they had to write it down at first. (teacher had set some questions they had to answer: favourite artist and what you like about them and stuff like that). Then they recorded themselves and played it back to the whole class.

Another idea is to do what Jack Black did in School of Rock and have them form a band lol!
